Golden Nugget: Even when you fail, you’re still a member of God’s family.

Daily Message:

When my children disobey me, I don’t kick them out of my family. And God is a better parent than I am. In fact, he is more loving and caring than any earthly mother or father. His followers are his children, and he loves them always—even when they fail. When you fail, you’re still a member of God’s family.

“God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” You’re forgiven through the cross of Christ. You have new motivation through his love. New life and power is yours because he lives in you!

Because you are a new person in Christ, you don’t like to sin. And when you sin, it disappoints you. You know the one who loves you and gave his life for you, and you quite naturally want to please him. Yet in spite of that, failures sometimes happen—and even then your Father loves you. You’re in the family!

Consider This:

  • How has your relationship with Christ influenced the way you treat other people, especially your family?
  • What Christ-follower in your world can encourage this week?

Take Action:

As a new follower of Jesus, you have a responsibility to encourage people in the family of God as well as those outside of it. E-mail, text, or call someone who has helped you in your faith this week. Thank them for being a source of encouragement to you.
