God’s Answer to Your Prayer

God’s Answer to Your Prayer

Golden Nugget: God is a loving father who gives good gifts to his children. But his answers to your prayers may not always make sense to you at first.

Daily Message:

God is a loving father who gives good gifts to His children. But God’s answers to your prayers may not always make immediate sense to you on your new spiritual journey.

Jesus once told His followers that a loving father would never give a stone or snake to his child who asked for bread or fish. He concluded, “If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”

However, Jesus never said that the father actually gave the child bread and fish. He just said that the father gave “good gifts.” Who knows, maybe the father gave the child a fishing pole.

As you become aware of needs in your life, God wants you to bring them to Him. You, however, are probably not the best judge of how those needs should be met—even though you might think you are! Be assured that God is, and He will give you what is best. Bring your requests to the Lord. Be intentional, persistent, and specific.

But be prepared—you may not get what you ask for. Yet you can rest assured that the gifts he gives will be good.

Consider This:

  • Think about some of the crazy things you asked your parents for when you were a child, fully convinced that the request was valid.
  • What would your life have been like if they granted every request you had?

Take Action:

Start keeping a record of your prayer requests. Write down the date of the first time you asked God for it. Later, record how and when God answered that prayer.
