Forgiven for the Unthinkable

Forgiven for the Unthinkable

Golden Nugget: The grace of God is greater than any sin. Even yours.

Daily Message:

No matter what evil may be in your past, the moment you believed and trusted in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, all your sins were forgiven.

The apostle Paul is a great example. Before he became a believer in Jesus, Paul (then known as Saul) hunted down, imprisoned, and tortured Christians. He made it his life’s work to see them destroyed. He did everything possible to stop the spread of the gospel. Yet Jesus did not give up on him. He pursued Paul until he was transformed, repented of his murderous ways, and was baptized.

Paul described his transformation in Christ like this: “Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.”

Paul was a blasphemer, a persecutor, and a violent man. But the grace of God is greater than any sin. Even Paul’s. Even yours.

Consider This:

  • What sin do you find the hardest to believe God could forgive you for?
  • How does that sin compare to Paul’s?

Take Action:

The Bible is filled with stories of extravagant forgiveness. You can find them outside the Bible as well. Look for these stories and let God encourage you through them. He has forgiven others, and he will forgive you.
