Golden Nugget: Now that you’re a follower of Christ, you need not fear death.

Daily Message:

When you decided to follow Jesus Christ, you began sharing life with him forever. Jesus Christ entered your life and God became your heavenly Father for eternity. In 1 John 5:12, God explained that eternal life belongs to those who have Jesus: “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 

If you have received Jesus Christ the Son as your savior, then you have eternal life. Your physical death will not change that fact. You will live with Christ forever beyond this life and beyond this world.

Eternal life is based on the confidence of Christ’s promise to you, and his promise is sure. The moment you believed and trusted in Christ, you received that life. If you died today, you would immediately be in the presence of God forever.

• What scares you the most about dying?
• How does the new understanding that you will spend forever with Christ help with those fears?

Take Action:

“Famous last words” provide a great perspective on dying and eternity. Find some famous last words online or at your local library. How do these words reflect a person’s view of God, life, etc.? What would you like your last words to communicate?
